Legislation requires each food business to ensure food handlers have the appropriate skills and knowledge for the work they do. Successful food businesses ensure their team members demonstrate excellent food safety practices by regularly reinforcing food handler competencies.
As of 8th December 2023, all food handlers who handle unpackaged potentially hazardous food that is ready-to-eat food or that is ready-to-eat food sold to retail customers or is used in the preparation of ready-to-eat food that is served to customers, must complete training prior to handling food. The new Food Safety Standard 3.2.2A states food handers must be trained in four key areas: safe food handling, food contamination, cleaning and sanitising and personal hygiene.
Infocus Food Safety’s accredited Food Handler Course comprehensively covers all these required areas and assesses both knowledge and skills of participants.
* Please note there is a Third-Party Observation / Verification Form which needs to be completed. Please contact us on 1300 818 408 if you do not have access to an appropriate workplace / commercial kitchen.
